Cornell Summer Research and Leadership Program
Background: I am a Singapore girl, born and raised. I've wanted to be a vet for as long as I can remember and was offered a scholarship to do so at the University of Sydney when I completed my 'A' Levels. I took a year off between finishing my 'A' Levels and starting university and in that time, I taught chemistry to year 11 students and travelled extensively. I really enjoyed my vet course and decided to extend it by doing a research project in exotic bird nutrition between my fourth and final years.
Interests: I love the theatre, especially being involved in backstage work and stage managing. I also have a minor obsession with cooking, enjoy riding my bicycle and can't live without music (but can't play an instrument to save my life!).
Career Goal: I plan on returning to Singapore at the end of my vet degree and will work for the government, in the infectious diseases department. I will probably go back into clinical work at some point to help maintain my professional and clinical veterinary skills.
