North Carolina State University
Background:
I was born and raised in Rives Junction, Michigan and was involved in 4-H and a variety of horse competitions. I attended Michigan State University and completed a Bachelor’s of Science in Microbiology. Afterwards I worked as a research laboratory technician for a year. I have recently moved to North Carolina to attend North Carolina State University College of Veterinary Medicine. I have just completed my first year of veterinary school.
Interests:
I love to work outdoors, and in my free time I am learning how to play the guitar. I also enjoy horseback riding and reading.
Career Goal:
My interests within the veterinary field include public health, small and large animal medicine, and research. After completing veterinary school, I plan to practice in a large animal or mixed animal clinic for a few years, and then I may return to school for a Master’s in Public Health and pursue a career in that field. My interests lie in emerging and infectious diseases and zoonotic diseases.
