Cornell College of Veterinary Medicine
As an “army brat” I spent my childhood moving from place to place across the country, but now call San Diego home. I attended Virginia Tech as an undergrad, majoring in Biological Sciences and Psychology with a focus on animal behavior. Following internships in biomedical engineering and the expansion of my research experiences I decided to apply to graduate school. I moved to Duke University, where I gained a Master’s in Immunology studying the germinal center response. While there, I spent time working at a small animal emergency clinic and interning at a preserve for large carnivores. My interest in veterinary medicine led me to pursue a veterinary degree at Cornell University.
I am very active. I love playing sports and being outside. Growing up we took vacations to different national parks each year, where I developed a love for hiking, horseback riding, and white-water rafting. While at Cornell, I have been involved with the salsa community and can be found dancing at least a couple of nights a week. Recently, I began to try my hand at rock-climbing. I also enjoy cooking and spending time with friends. Potluck anyone?
My plan is to earn the DVM degree and a PhD in Immunology. My current interests are in conservation medicine, but veterinary school teaches you so much. Who knows where I may end up!
