University of Queensland
I was born in Northern Queensland, Australia. I’ve always liked the animal world, with David Attenborough being my pin-up man since high school. I completed a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology and Entomology and developed an interest in the field ‘One Medicine’, so decided to embark upon a career in veterinary science.
I’m a cinema enthusiast and also enjoy getting out and about when study isn’t occupying my time. I operate a small face painting business called “ZooNose” for which I get inspiration from Cirque Du Soleil and the Omo Valley people of Ethiopia. I have a great respect for horses, donkeys, goats and avian creatures. One of my greatest passions is attending the Woodford Folk Festival - possibly the best festival on the planet.
I would like to earn a PhD in infectious disease ecology or complete a pathology residency. I am interested in private clinical practice but ultimately I’d like to work in biosecurity. At some point, I see myself working in veterinary schools or community projects. It would be great to inspire young people to be systems thinkers, have pride in their journey and enjoy life.
