I was raised in Heikendorf, a small village near Kiel in the very north of Germany. After attending high school, I completed an apprenticeship in veterinary nursing in an equine clinic near Hamburg. Afterwards, I spent time in Australia and was lucky to work in a marine research station in the Great Barrier Reef. In 2007, I began my studies of veterinary medicine in Hannover and will continue for the next two years.
Since my early childhood, I have loved horse riding and competing in dressage. I also breed horses and am involved in our local young breeders club. Since I lived close to the Baltic Sea, I am a big fan of water sports, above all, I love sailing and windsurfing. And of course I like to spend time with my friends and my family as often as time allows.
I intend to continue my education in a PhD program in veterinary research and am considering a career abroad. I am particularly interested in the field of pharmacology as well as genetics and reproduction with special emphasis on links between veterinary medicine and human medicine.
