Background:
I was born in 1990 in Ghent, a city in Belgium. I live with my parents and younger sister in Destelbergen, a small and rural village and a lovely place to grow up. I have always had a passion for animals. Since the age of eight, I was convinced that I wanted to become a veterinarian. In 2008 I had the chance to fulfil this dream: I started studying at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Ghent University. In the passed tree years I have developed a growing interest in research.
Interests:
In my free time I enjoy reading, listening to music and spending time with friends. My hobby is horseback riding. I also love it to go for a walk with my Golden Retriever. I am going to a club for obedience training with him and I would like to practise canine agility in the future.
Career Goal:
I do not have a fixed picture of my future career yet, but I have deep interests in research. I hope that the Program will help me to explore such career path. A mixed research/clinical career would be my ultimate diligence because it would allow me to combine my passion to treat animals and my interest for scientific research.
