I am a third year veterinary student at the University of Georgia in Athens, Georgia. I attended the University of Georgia for my undergraduate training before early admission to UGA’s veterinary college.
I am heavily involved in extracurricular activities at the University of Georgia’s College of Veterinary Medicine. I have assisted with several research projects under veterinary faculty at the University of Georgia. I also hold office positions in SCAVMA and in PathHeads as well as for my veterinary class. Additionally, I am a CVM Ambassador and tutor for the Office of Academic Affairs. These research and leadership roles have had a significant impact on my career goals.
I enjoy the outdoors as well as spending time with family and friends. I often find myself wrestling goats and tending to chickens on my parents’ small farm just outside Athens, Georgia. Athens is a great town to explore with friends. I enjoy trying out new restaurants and listening to new bands. I also enjoy SCUBA diving, camping and fishing.
After obtaining a DVM, I plan to pursue a Pathology Residency as well as a PhD. As the daughter of two university faculty members, I have long been attracted to the possibilities of such a career. I am particularly interested in research and teaching focused around Veterinary Pathology.
