Background:
I was born in Karlsruhe, in southern Germany and lived there until I graduated from high school. Before I started my veterinary career I left Germany in 2007 for almost a year and travelled around in Southern Africa. I visited a lot of fascinating countries and worked for different wildlife research projects and wildlife rehabilitation projects which had a great influence on my career choice.
After one exciting and adventurous year abroad I started my studies
of veterinary medicine at the University of Veterinary Medicine Hannover
in 2008.
Interests:
My big passion is Africa and backpacking around the world. Since
2006 I travelled to many different African countries such as Botswana,
Zambia, Uganda, South Africa, and Mozambique and got to know a lot of
different cultures, people and of course fascinating wildlife. I love
being out in the bush tracking and observing animals.
Besides, I like all kind of outdoor sports, I compete in track and field und enjoy spending time with friends and my family.
Career Goal:
I intend to complete a PhD in veterinary research and I want to live and work in Africa.
I want to get involved in wildlife medicine and in research to
investigate the impact of diseases on wild animal populations and the
transmission of diseases between domestic animals and wild animals.
