Instructor The Department of Clinical Sciences invites applications for a post-DVM, three-year term appointment as an Instructor in support of the curriculum in the College of Veterinary Medicine, a world-class teaching facility. Responsibilities are many and varied. The successful candidate will provide support for the Foundation Course V (Animal Health and Disease) and assist with all laboratory components of Foundation Course VII and Foundation Course V - affiliated elective courses. The successful candidate will work with a faculty curriculum design group, course leaders and with numerous individual faculty. Specific duties include scheduling and organizing Foundation Course V (a 30 credit, 2 semester, medicine and surgery course); providing logistical support for faculty; assisting faculty in developing, administering, and grading examinations; developing, revising, and distributing course materials; serving as coordinator for associated laboratory exercises; working within a variety of educational laboratory settings with faculty, students, and technical staff. Preference will be given to candidates with large animal experience (particularly equine), excellent computer skills and a strong commitment to teaching and the highest quality of education. Excellent interpersonal skills, desire to teach and interact with veterinary students, the ability to work well with individual faculty, students, staff and administration and with large groups of same are essential. A DVM or equivalent is required. Preferred attributes and background include large animal clinical practice experience, excellent organizational skills, strong computer skills, and the ability to work independently and to manage diverse tasks efficiently. The candidate must also possess excellent interpersonal skills and have the ability to work with a variety of individuals including fac! ulty, staff, students and administration.
