KNOW Heartworms Campaign

The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) has joined with the American Heartworm Society (AHS) in creating the KNOW Heartworms information campaign. "Heartworm prevention in cats is extremely important," noted the late Dr. James Richards, Jr., former director of the Cornell Feline Health Center, "because the dangers of heartworm disease are much more significant that we'd previously believed." < more >

FATCAT is the first clinical trial examining the efficacy of clopidogrel (Plavix®) in preventing recurrence of feline aortic thromboembolism. The trial is based at Purdue University.
