Background: I was born and raised in Southern California, where I also attended undergrad at Cal Poly Pomona. I majored in Animal Science and graduated in 2004 as the class co-valedictorian. While at Cal Poly Pomona I volunteered as a student assistant on several research projects spanning the fields of physiology, nutrition and reproduction. The experiences that I had in those laboratories ignited my passion for research and led me to pursue a career as a veterinary scientist. This then led me to apply to the Dual DVM/PhD Degree program at Cornell in which I am currently excited to be enrolled. Interests: Reproduction, Physiology, Cellular communication/signalling, snowboarding, bicycling and the newly-aquired and fairly expensive hobby of rock climbing. Career Goal: I hope to find a career in which my curiosity about endocrinology and the regulation of intracellular signals can be combined to develop new ways to manage the reproductive and general health of both animals and humans. |
