Cornell Veterinary Medicine

Hilarie Campbell Jerauld
Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine

Class of 2008

Background: Growing up an "Army brat", I had the opportunity to live in many different places around the United States from the Puget Sound of Washington to "Deep in the Heart of Texas" to the Eastern Shore of Maryland. I attended the University of Maryland in College Park where I earned a B.S. in Biology. Shortly after graduating, I married the best man on Earth and moved to Blacksburg, Virginia where I currently attend veterinary school.

Interests: I enjoy the opportunities that come with being a veterinary student. I am involved with community education efforts to teach children about dog safety. I am also very active in the Animal Welfare Club at Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine where we organize charity events such as The Dog Walk Against Cancer which raises money to fund summer research fellowships in comparative oncology. I also enjoy the beautiful outdoors of the New River Valley in Virginia. Hiking with my pound puppy and my husband is one of my favorite hobbies.

Career Goal: I have a very open mind about where I might end up upon completion of my D.V.M. program. I am interested in research, but also in public health, veterinary hospice, and preventative medicine.
