Background: I was born and raised in the Annapolis Valley of Nova Scotia, Canada, but now live in Charlottetown, PEI where I am studying for my DVM. I graduated from the Nova Scotia Agricultural College in 2004 with a B.Sc. in Animal Sciences, which is where I became interested in research while working on the genotyping of sheep for Scrapie resistance in the province of NS. I have currently finished my first year of the DVM program. Interests: I enjoy skiing, hiking, kayaking, and most other outdoor activities. I also enjoy traveling, and of course hanging out with my friends. Career Goal: I am interested in zoonotic diseases, and hope to work on disease outbreaks and their control in the future. I have also been involved in animal welfare at the AVC, and plan to remain involved in advancing the welfare of animals. |
