Background: I was born in Florida but grew up in Cary, NC with my parents, my wonder dog Aurora, and other crazy critters. My parents exposed me to the natural world from an early age and some highlights were following the old Oregon trail west, summiting Mt Harvard (14,420ft,) and rafting the forty mile river in Alaska, by myself. I have always known that I wanted to be a vet but my area of interest has adapted over the years. In 2003 I received my BS in Zoology and entered the NC State University College of Veterinary Medicine that fall. I have just finished my second year. Interests: I enjoy being outside! Endurance horse racing, soccer, mountain climbing, water skiing, SCUBA diving, and camping are a few of my passions. Best times are spent laughing with friends and family. Career Goal: I am looking forward to a career in Veterinary Public Health and/or zoonotic disease surveillance, prevention and control. My goal is to find a career where I can fully integrate my love of medicine, research and working with animals. |
