Cornell Veterinary Medicine

Klara Saville
Girton College, University of Cambridge

Class of 2007

Background: I am from a small village in North Norfolk and so moving to Cambridge to study was only a small hop across East Anglia. I had a fabulous time in my undergraduate years, and did a bit of work too, and graduated with a BA in 2005. I thoroughly enjoyed the intercalated year in which I conducted research into avian influenza.

Interests: I enjoy walking, especially when mountains are involved, and thus have travelled from the wide skies of Norfolk to get my fix. I look forward to stretching my legs in the beautiful surroundings of Ithaca this summer. When the opportunity arises I can happily while away an afternoon in the art galleries of Cambridge or London. I also have a go at photography while on my travels, although recognise the need for improvement.

Career Goal: I have no definite plans, although Im not short of ideas! I hope that the leadership program will help to organise my thoughts. I would aim to complete a couple of years in mixed animal practice to consolidate skills learnt at college. Proceeding on to a residency program or PhD in a fascinating field.
