Background: I was born in Birmingham, but went to the AVMA accredited Glasgow University, despite being the furthest vet school from home! In no rush to graduate, I took a year out between my third and fourth year to take a degree in veterinary pathology at the Royal Veterinary College. The year nurtured my interest in molecular pathology and emerging diseases, and I did a 5 month gross and molecular study on the newly discovered Canine Respiratory Coronavirus. Interests: I really enjoy listening to all sorts of music, I play the piano and bassoon, keep fit with martial arts and try to keep up with film and theatre. I get involved in vet school events, highlights being organising a ball and getting robbed at the bank of all the profits from the annual charity rodeo! Career Goal: I'd like work as a clinician intially, but eventually I hope to work in a field involving infectious disease. |
