Brief Biography
Rebecca is an Upstate NY native from Skaneateles. She was introduced to veterinary medicine working with sheep and dairy cattle while growing up. She studied biomechanics of growing animals for her undergraduate thesis research.
Education
AB, Honors Biology, Harvard University 2003
Research Interests
Rebecca is interested in understanding pathogen transmission dynamics. She is studying Mycobacterium avium subspecies paratuberculosis (MAP) transmission on commercial US dairy farms. Her projects involve in vitro assessment of host and pathogen heterogeneity, fieldwork and mathematical model development.
