Year One: Options A & B

Note: Starting the DVM curriculum in Year One is not an option
- Three laboratory rotations over the course of up to one year, followed by the selection of and
continued work in the thesis laboratory
- Two core graduate courses from a recommended list of five course options
- One or two additional graduate courses in the student's area of interest

as permitted by the DVM course schedule

- Take the PhD qualifying exam (A-exam)

- DVM preclinical curriculum
- continue working in thesis laboratory
