Cornell Summer Research and Leadership Program

Ailsa Guen Bradbury
University of Cambridge
Background: I have always lived near London, only moving away to study at the University of Cambridge (Jesus College), where I am now in my fourth year. I spent my intercalated year studying Pharmacology and carried out a research project investigating the presence of different serotonin receptors in ruminant digital arteries. I was the only veterinary student on a medically-oriented course. I feel strongly that veterinarians should keep up with developments made in the medical profession as many of these ultimately filter through to treatment of animals in practice.
Interests: I enjoy running and cycling, and used to row to a high level. I also love learning languages and working abroad. I’ve spent the last two summers running a horse-trekking business in Iceland.
Career Goal: I am enjoying working in various areas of the field of veterinary medicine, and I especially like the more scientific side. I have yet to choose where my career future will lie. Fortunately, I have another two years to make up my mind! |
