Admissions Presentations & Tours
We are delighted you are interested in learning more about the Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) admissions process at Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine. We encourage you to consider visiting our College to learn more about the DVM degree program and the admissions process. Below you will find the dates of our upcoming Admissions Presentations and Tours. Note: these are two-hour programs that include an admissions presentation by the Director of Admissions and a student-guided tour of the College.
Who attends: Pre-Vet Presentations are open to all who are interested in veterinary medicine as a career. Please feel free to register for one of our scheduled presentations by clicking the link below. Guests of pre-vet students are also welcome to attend the Presentations and participate on the Tours (children 14 years old and younger will not be able to participate in the tour - see ‘Restrictions' below). Note, when registering for the Presentation and Tour, the number of “Guests” includes those attending with you. Please make sure you include yourself in this number.
Register for a Pre-Vet Presentation and Tour
Confirmation of your registration: We will send out confirmation of your registration closer to the date of the program. Please note that interest in these presentations is high, and we may have a waitlist. If you find you cannot attend, please let us know as soon as possible so we can offer those on the wait list an opportunity to attend. Admissions Presentation: Presentations include information about the DVM curriculum, how to prepare to (one day) apply, the application process, ways to strengthen an application, careers in veterinary medicine, and financial aid.
Tours: Tours of our educational and clinical facilities (companion animal hospital) are included when you register above. Note, these are the only tours offered of the College; individual tours are not available.
Restrictions: Please be aware that children 14 years old and under are not allowed on tours, even if space is available, for health and safety reasons. Additionally, there are many steps to climb; you may see dead or sick animals; you may see blood and animal tissues; you will not be allowed to touch or pet any animals. Photography is not allowed at any point during the Tour.
Times: Presentations times vary by location and date. Prior to the Presentation and Tour, you will receive an email confirming your registration. This will include details about the time and location of the program. Please check your email before attending the program in the event we need to let you know about changes in the schedule.
Cancelations: If you cannot attend the Presentation and Tour you registered for, please let us know as soon as possible so that your space may be offered to others interested in attending the program.
Waitlist: We will create a wait list if the event or program is full. If you are interested in being on a wait list for one of the upcoming programs that is marked “Full” please email vet_admissions@cornell.edu to let us know. Include the date(s) you are interested in attending and the total number attending including you and any guests. In many cases we do have cancelations and those on the wait list are able to attend.
Appointments: Individual appointments are made with the Director of Admissions if you are unable to come to an admissions presentation and tour. Please call (607)253-3700 to set up an in-person or phone appointment. Note: we are not able to offer tours after individual appointments.
