Overview:
The Biomedical Sciences Departmental Retreat will feature two days of scientific presentations, strategic planning sessions, career development workshops, and social activities. The retreat site is Hamilton College, located in scenic Central New York adjacent to the picturesque village of Clinton, approximately 10 miles from Utica and 45 miles from Syracuse. Chartered in 1812, Hamilton enjoys a national reputation as a highly selective independent, coeducational, liberal arts college. The attractive campus, located on College Hill overlooking the Oriskany and Mohawk Valleys, features a mixture of traditional and modern architecture with excellent learning and recreational facilities and modern residence accommodations.

Parking:
Parking is available to all guests free of charge at the Residence Halls and the Science Center (Retreat location). A shuttle bus will be available to and from the residence halls and science center if the weather is an issue or there are mobility issues.
Housing:
Housing accommodations for Faculty: Skenandoa House. All rooms come with single beds with a mattress cover, desk, chair, dresser and closet with a private bathroom. Linens for bed, two towels, 1 wash cloth, pillow and blanket. Toiletries are available upon request.
Housing accommodations for Postdocs: Ferguson House & Eells House. Single beds with a mattress cover, desk, chair and closet. Semi private bathroom. Linens for bed, two towels, 1 wash cloth, pillow and blanket. Toiletries are available upon request.
On Site Staff Support:
Summer Conferences provides fully-trained summer conference staff who will handle all aspects of your registration, local information, and assist you with any concerns related to the meeting. Signage will also be provided to direct participants to parking and meeting spaces. Computer/AV support will also be provided. Wireless access will be available in meeting spaces but not all residence halls.
If you are going to be distributing any paper handouts you must bring your copies with you. There will not be a photocopy machine available.
Recreational Facilities:
Hamilton College features recreational facilities at no additional charge - tennis courts, swimming pool, outdoor fields, and running paths. Visitors are also invited to enjoy the quiet beauty of the Root Glen Paths and to wander the mile of red shale paths woven within a seven and one-half acre wooded garden and ravine located between Hamilton's north and south campuses
Abstract Instructions:
Please send your abstract as a Microsoft Word document via email to: Chris Bennett mcb75@cornell.edu by Friday, June 1st.
Begin the abstract with the title in all capital letters. Begin the subsequent line with the author's full names, and underline the presenting author's name. Include appropriate affiliations. Skip one line and then begin the text of the abstract. Please limit abstract to a single page, use a 12 pt. font and leave 1.5" margins on all sides.
Poster Guidelines:
Posters will be displayed on large free-standing bulletin boards. Maximum poster dimensions are 4 feet X 4 feet. The poster session will begin at 5:30 pm on the evening of Friday June 15th. Please plan on setting up your poster between 2:30 pm and 5:00 pm.
