Anesthesiology

Lecturer

The Department of Clinical Sciences, College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University invites applications for a renewable faculty appointment at the lecturer level in the Section of Anesthesiology. Candidates must have a DVM or equivalent degree, completed a residency in anesthesia, and be board certified or eligible by the American College of Veterinary Anesthesiologists or the European College of Veterinary Anaesthesia and Analgesia.

Responsibilities will be determined in accordance with service needs and academic priorities. Distribution of effort will be 65% clinical service in the Cornell University Hospital for Animals including providing after-hours emergency backup support to the anesthesia resident on call, 15% didactic or laboratory instruction of veterinary students and residents, and 20% clinical or collaborative research.

The section of anesthesia at Cornell has six faculty members, three residents, and eight veterinary technicians in a modern, well-equipped teaching hospital with a diverse large animal and small animal caseload.

Salary will be commensurate with academic credentials and experience.
