The CVM Biosafety Program provides a variety of services to the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University, and the surrounding community:
The CVM HydroCremation Service provides both group and individual HydroCremations for clients of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, local and regional veterinarians, and private individuals.
Biocontainment Facility Operations
The CVM Biosafety Program is responsible for the operation of Biosafety Level 3 (BSL-3) facilities at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Activities include research and diagnostic activity support, training, SOP development, maintenance, decontamination, facility performance verification, and emergency response.
Medical and Pathological Waste Management
Medical and pathological waste generated at Cornell’s Ithaca, NY campus is safely treated and disposed of at the College’s state-of-the-art Waste Management Facility.
