Safety training resources available to CVM employees include:
Supervisors:
Supervisors should be aware of all the generic and job-specific training requirements for their programs. Additional assistance at the department level can come from Department Safety Representatives and/or Department Administrative Managers.
CU Environmental Health and Safety:
EH&S provides the bulk of safety training at Cornell - see http://www.ehs.cornell.edu/training/training.cfm for information on training courses and to use their online to help identify training needs based on work place hazards.
CU Center for Animal Resources and Education:
CARE offers training for animal handlers - see http://www.research.cornell.edu/care/ for more information.
CVM Biosafety Program:
The CVM Biosafety Program offers training on working safely with Biological Safety Cabinets, Fume Hoods, and similar devices - contact Paul Jennette at jpj22 for schedule information.
