Waste Disposal (non-medical)

Regular Garbage that does not fall into any of the categories below is collected by the Veterinary College's Building Care group (contact 253-3780 for information)
Recyclable Paper is also collected by the Veterinary College's Building Care group (contact 253-3780 for information). A description of the types of paper accepted can be found at the University's page on Recycling and Solid Waste.

Flourescent Light Bulbs (used and/or broken), Computer Hardware, and Batteries must be taken to the College's Recycling Room located at C1053, VMC (just down the hall from the main College mail room.)

Recyclable and Returnable Beverage Containers may be deposited in any of the designated receptacles located in the public areas of the College.


NOTE: For the disposal of Glass Bottles and Other Glass Items from laboratories or the Hospital areas -

Glass from laboratories and the Hospital areas is not collected for recycling at the College of Veterinary Medicine. Clean glass that has not been exposed to infectious agents should be placed in a sturdy cardboard box that is taped shut and marked "GLASS," and then the box may be placed in the regular garbage. Glass that has been exposed to infectious agents must be disposed of as Medical Waste.
