PLUMBAGO SCANDENS POISONING OF CATTLE AND GOATS IN BRAZIL
 
Description    The plant PLUMBAGO SCANDENS grows in Brazil. Cattle and goat mortality was associated with ingestion of this plant, and clinical signs were produced by experimental feeding of the fresh plant.

Signs   Abdominal distention, Anorexia, Bloat in ruminants, Constant or increased vocalization, Diarrhea, Dullness, Dyspnea, Excessive salivation, Grinding teeth, Increased respiratory rate, Red or brown urine, Rumen hypomotility or atony, Tachycardia, Tremor
