ERGOT, CLAVICEPS, TOXICITY IN PIGS, ERGOTISM
 
Description    Ergot fungus (CLAVICEPS) infection of crops fed to sows can adversely affect milk production and have been associated with other clinical signs. CLAVICEPS PURPUREA, C. FUSIFORMIS, and C. AFRICANA have been associated with toxicity.

Signs   Abortion or weak newborns, Agalactia, Cyanosis, Female infertility, Lack of growth or weight gain, Nail, claw, hoof sloughing, Skin necrosis, Small litter size
