2010 OLDENBURG INSPECTION

July 11, 2010

For the eighth year in a row, the Oldenburg Horse Breeders Society visited the Equine Park at Cornell University to inspect mares and foals from the breeding herd as well as several privately owned mares and foals. After an endless hot, muggy spell of weather, a clearing rain brought us a beautiful day and the inspection proceeded without any problems, thanks to the assistance of many dedicated students and employees, visiting mare owners and handlers and visitors that all pitched in to help. Again, special thanks to Nicole Bowen for seeing that all the Cornell mares and foals were ready for show day.

Inspectors Ulrich Henschke, Dr. Andre Hahn and Holly Simensen evaluated three mares, two yearlings and fifteen foals with many comments for owners and spectators! Klaus Schengber did a superb job of presenting most of the mares and foals! How he does it, we'll never know!

Congratulations to Francine Walker for her flashy colt, Sir Valentine by Sir Donnerhall out of Nina by Burggraaf who was awarded Premium foal as well as the Foal of Distinction Award. This big, free moving colt has tremendous presence and was named a stallion prospect! The two Benvolio fillies Benetta and Bellamore also received premium awards for Cornell. Cindy and Gene Fletcher presented two Weser-Ems foals, HMF Ruby Tuesday and HMF Interntional Delight by Hilkens Black Delight, for premium awards. Congratulations also to Margaret Neider for a premium award for her lovely colt Rosalut NHF by Rosenthal. Terry and Jayshree Schrubb's mare Kristianna also had a beautiful premium filly Quidamo RGS by Quidamo.
