The Cornell University Hospital for Animals offers educational programs targeted for specific interests

dot  ECFVG Program

The AVMA Educational Commission for Foreign Veterinary Graduates (ECFVG) clinical year program has been eliminated. Graduates of foreign veterinary schools seeking US licensure will need to satisfactorily pass the Clinical Proficiency Examination (CPE). dot  Externship Program

Externships are offered to veterinary students from other colleges (in their final or next to final clinical year) to participate in clinical rotations on a space available basis for up to six weeks.

dot  Visiting Veterinarians Program

The Visiting Veterinarians Program provides an opportunity for veterinarians to observe in our clinical services for a short period of time with advanced approval and a weekly fee.

dot  AQUAVET

This is a program in aquatic veterinary medicine, jointly sponsored by the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University and the School of Veterinary Medicine, University of Pennsylvania, that currently consists of two courses presented at the Marine Biological Laboratory, Woods Hole, MA, immediately following the spring semester. Admission to either of the courses is by a competitive application process, with applications typically due on 15 January of the year in which the courses are presented.

The college offers two courses in farriery, taught by the resident farrier of the Cornell University Hospital for Animals.

dot  Summer Dairy Institute

An advanced training program for prospective dairy veterinarians held at Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
