The Section of Anatomic Pathology in the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University invites applications from highly motivated individuals for a non-tenure track appointment in anatomic pathology. As a major referral center for companion, equine, livestock, laboratory, zoo and wildlife animal species with the largest team of specialty veterinary medical professionals in the Northeast US, the College of Veterinary Medicine at Cornell University offers an exceptional and stimulating environment for professional growth and advancement in anatomic pathology. The College is committed to supporting the continued academic excellence of its faculty through providing state of the art facilities, teaching support, and opportunities for collaborative applied and basic science research. Departmental pathologists provide timely professional diagnostic services to the clinicians at the Cornell University Hospital for Animals, private veterinary practitioners and conservation groups through the Animal Health Diagnostic Center. The successful applicant must have a strong commitment to providing outstanding professional diagnostic service for our clinical colleagues consistent with the mission of the College. A major portion of time will be devoted to overseeing necropsy and surgical pathology diagnostic services while training and mentoring pathology residents and DVM students. The remaining effort will be devoted to teaching and other scholarly activities reflected in collaborative research, publications, presentations, university and public service, and participation in professional organizations. Teaching responsibilities to veterinary students will be based on the candidate's interests and expertise. Qualifications for this position include the DVM degree or the equivalent and board certification or eligibility by the American College of Veterinary Pathologists or the European College of Veterinary Pathology. The initial appointment will be at the lecturer or senior lecturer level. Salary and rank will be very competitive and commensurate with experience.
