Description

Applications are invited for a post-DVM, 3-year appointment with possibility for renewal, beginning January 1, 2009 as a lecturer in a tutorial, problem-based veterinary medical curriculum in the College of Veterinary Medicine. Responsibilities of this position are diverse and include lecturing; serving as a tutor for groups of first and second year veterinary students; creating and revising educational laboratory modules; formulating and grading case-based assessments; and creating and editing tutorial case material. The successful applicant, working with Curriculum Design Groups and Course Directors, will also play a key role in design and revision of courses across diverse disciplines including cellular and molecular biology, physiology, pharmacology, and pathology. Approximate allocation of time commitment to courses will be 15% to "The Animal Body", 20% to "Cell Biology and Genetics", 60% to "Function & Dysfunction", and 5% to "Management of Fluid and Electrolyte Disorders".

Qualifications

DVM and PhD required. Preferred attributes and background include research experience, comprehensive understanding of the basic sciences, excellent computer skills including word processing and web page construction, facility with online communications utilities in a networked computing environment, good interpersonal skills, and the ability to work independently and to manage diverse tasks efficiently. Training will be provided in the tutorial process.
