Born prematurely, Sylvester was rushed to the Cornell Equine Hospital neonatal intensive care. Suffering from contracted front legs, an enlarged umbilicus and too weak to stand, Sylvester was helped with medical care, limb splints and surgical removal of his umbilicus. Cornell’s farrier made special shoes for him. With physical rehabilitation, including exercise in a ball pit, Sylvester gained strength and was able to stand on his own and go home. We wish him a successful racing career!
