George Kollias has been practicing wildlife and zoological medicine since 1974 and has worked with animals across the world in countries including Belize, Honduras, Thailand and Korea. He received his DVM from the University of Missouri. He completed an internship in small animal practice at Westcott Hospital for Animals in Detroit and a residency in Wildlife and Zoological Medicine at the University of California. He also received a doctorate degree in 1982 from the University of California at Davis. He is certified by the American College of Zoological Medicine. Kollias lives in Ithaca, New York, with a chocolate lab, a cat and three tanks of rescued fish.
