N. Sydney Moïse DVM, MS is Professor of Medicine and Chief of the Section of Cardiology at the College of Veterinary Medicine, Cornell University in Ithaca, New York. She graduated from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine with a BS and DVM. She obtained an MS degree from Cornell University. After completing residency training she completed the boards in both Cardiology and Internal Medicine in the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine.

She is involved in teaching, clinical practice, and research. She is a past Norden Distinguished Teacher awardee and is frequently requested to provide continuing education internationally. She established the clinical program in veterinary cardiology at Cornell University. As the Director of the cardiology residency program in cardiology and visiting fellows she has developed a program with the primary mission of training the future academic cardiologist in veterinary medicine. As a result of this initiative six former trainees hold academic positions in addition to those at Cornell University [Drs. Amara Estrada (Associate Professor, University of Florida); Romain Pariaut (Associate Professor, Louisiana State University); Sophy Jesty (Assistant Professor, University of Tennessee); Seung Woo Jung (Assistant Professor, Auburn University: PhD student Cornell)]. Dr. Moise’s research has centered on spontaneous cardiac rhythm (normal and abnormal) in dogs. More recently she has been involved in studies to understand the mechanisms of degeneration of the mitral valve in dogs.  She was awarded the AVMA research award for her work in the study of inherited sudden death in German shepherds. She was the 2011 recipient of the flagship Bourgelat Award given by the British Small Animal Veterinary Association, for international recognition of her outstanding contributions to small animal practice

Dr. Moïse for more than 5 years was Editor-in Chief of the international Journal of Veterinary Cardiology where she is now Associate Editor. She is extensively involved in the international aspects of academic veterinary cardiology. She is a member of the European Society of Veterinary Cardiology. She has authored more than 100 journal articles and book chapters.
