Emil  Olsen, DVM, Phd, MRCVS

From the age of 5 I spent most of my childhood and youth in the saddle and quickly felt that special bond with the horses and decided to combine my interest in disease with veterinary medicine. I graduated as a DVM in 2006 from University of Copenhagen (Denmark) and enjoyed 3 years in ambulatory practice with the main focus on general medicine in horses and cattle. In 2009 I got the opportunity to do a PhD funded by University of Copenhagen whilst doing research on subjective and objective assessment of the horse with ataxia in the acclaimed Structure & Motion Laboratory at the Royal Veterinary College in London (UK). Within Large Animal Medicine my main interests are gastrointestinal diseases, emergency and critical care, pain, neurology, dermatology and evidence based medicine / diagnostics.
