Gillian Perkins Gillian Perkins, DVM, DACVIM
I am a large animal internal medicine specialist and provide diagnostic evaluation and treatment for medical disorders of horses, dairy cattle, camelids, sheep, and goats. I have a particular interest in infectious diseases and preventing them in the hospital; for that reason, I am head of the Infection Control Committee. I grew up riding horses in hunter and jumper activities, and currently take pleasure in watching my young daughter begin to ride. I enjoy encouraging Cornell veterinary students into equine practice and serve as faculty advisor of the student chapter of the American Association of Equine Practitioners (AAEP). My research interests are mainly in Equine Herpes Virus-1, Strangles, Salmonella, immunology and the microbiota of the horse stomach.
