Companion Exotic Animal Medicine Service
Do you have a pet bird, ferret, rabbit, rodent or reptile? If so, you may be interested in the Companion Exotic Animal Medicine Service, part of Cornell's Companion Animal Hospital. This service is dedicated to treating companion exotic pets just like yours. We are fully staffed with faculty, residents, and interns -- including the area's only board certified avian veterinarian -- who see nothing but exotic animals.
In addition to treating exotic pets, this clinical service at the teaching hospital is also designed to teach students about these amazing pets. We are fully staffed and integrated and have the backing of the entire Companion Animal Hospital to help us meet your needs. This includes radiology, flourscopy, ultrasonography, endoscopy, laser surgery, dentistry, and intensive care, as well as soft tissue and orthopedic surgeries. Our staff is here to help you take the best care of your pet that is possible. Here are just a few of the things we can offer you:
Medical and surgical treatment of adrenal gland disease in ferrets
Medical and surgical options (spaying) of birds for chronic egg laying
Treatment of rabbit and rodent dental problems
Hospitalization and care of sick bird and other exotic pets
