Foal Immunology
Our laboratory has been interested in learning about the competent and not so competent elements of the immune system of the foal. Our approach starts at fetal and neonatal stages of life, learning about the expression of essential B cell developmental genes in the primary and secondary lymphoid tissues.

Julia Felippe, associate professor of large animal medicine at Cornell University, College of Veterinary Medicine, and her laboratory group form The Equine Immunology Lab, which studies the equine immune system with specific interest in immunodeficiencies and developmental immunity of the foal.
