The Flower-Sprecher Veterinary Library's collection contains an internationally recognized selection of materials on veterinary medicine and animal culture. Related strengths include immunology, microbiology, parasitology, pharmacology, physiology, and human medicine.
As of June 30, 2003, the collection contained:
- 101,468 Bound volumes (monographs and bound journals)
- 811 Serial subscriptions currently received
- 29,115 slides, videotapes, and audiotapes comprising 1,646 audiovisual titles
The Library welcomes recommendations for the purchase of specific books, journals, audiovisuals, electronic resources and other titles that will enhance the quality of the collection.
Request the purchase/acquisition of new material by:
- Sending email to The Collection Development Librarian at vetref@cornell.edu or by calling (607) 253-3499
- Completing and submitting a Purchase Request form that is available at the Circulation Desk or fill out the online version.
- Entering request via the CU Library Gateway under Quick Links.
- Forwarding recommendations using other formats, including verbal suggestions, letters, publisher's flyers, book reviews or printouts.
It is helpful if you indicate whether the title is a "must" for this library, should be held somewhere on campus, or would be nice to have if funds permit.
