As you may know, the Student Chapter of the American Veterinary Medical Association (SCAVMA) at Cornell University puts on an annual auction that helps fund our students’ trip to the yearly SAVMA Symposium. Last year’s success was a testament to hard work and the generous donations from alumni, faculty, corporations and local restaurants and shops. All proceeds from the event are distributed evenly amongst students attending the symposium; the money helps to decrease the travel expenses, and makes it possible for more students to attend.
Colorado State University will be hosting the 2014 SAVMA Symposium from March 20th-22nd. Our students, especially the first year class, are enthusiastic and eager to partake in the opportunity to explore the latest advancements in the field while interacting with students from the other vet schools.
This year’s SCAVMA Auction will be held on December 6th. As always, we will kick off the night with a happy hour and hors d’oeuvres, followed by the silent auction and adrenaline-filled live auction. We invite you all to return to Ithaca for a night of camaraderie and the good-natured competition only an auction can generate. We understand some of you may be unable to attend the event. If you still wish to support our efforts in sending more students to the symposium, we gladly accept donated items of any size. Items like stethoscopes and even old textbooks are highly regarded and sought after by vet students! Feel free to contact Alex Dundie at email@example.com for more information.
Tickets for alumni cost $12 and can be purchased at the door.
The schedule for the evening is as follows:
Silent Auction: 5 PM – 7 PM in the Atrium
Live Auction: 7:15 PM – 9 pm in James Law Auditorium
Thank you for your time. We hope you can make it and look forward to meeting you at the SCAVMA Auction at the Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine.
