As the flood waters recede, it is tempting to think that our help is no longer needed. However, for many of the animals and their caregivers, the labor and the agony increases daily as injured and sick animals are being added to those that are homeless. <more>

The sometimes forgotten victims of Hurricane Katrina are the pets, horses, livestock and other animals left without homes, food or shelter as their human companions have evacuated. Cornell's College of Veterinary Medicine is working closely with Louisiana State University as they are on the front line of rescue and care efforts for pets and other animals. <more>
