The Hooding Ceremony
The Hooding was held at the Friedman Wrestling Center on Saturday, May 27 at 2 pm. Candidates for the degree Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and CUHA interns and residents completing programs assemble with parents, friends, spouses, partners, colleagues, faculty and guests. Associate Dean Gilbert stood in for Dean Smith, who was attending is son's graduation at the University of Delaware. He addressed the assembly (read his address) and placed the hood representing the DVM degree on each candidate. He introduced the Veterinary Oath, which was administered by the President of the NYSVMS, Dr. Wayne F. Warriner Jr. DVM '67. Professor Tommy Divers (Norden Distinguished Teacher Award - 2006) delivered the traditional "charge to the class". Dean Gilbert then stood in for Assistant Dean Bonita Voiland, who was receiving a Master of Business Administration from the Johnson School, and recognized the interns and residents who have completed programs in the Hospital. Here are some of those pictures.
