On this page are a few of the photographs I made during Commencement events this year. Each photo is linked to a larger file for viewing/saving. After each collection is a link to a slide show for all the photos of that event. Hope you had as much fun as I did. It was a privilege and pleasure to work with you these past four years. Enjoy. Here's a review of the week's events.
Click on each image to see a larger version or view more photos by following the link below some of the collections. If you would like the full resolution file (free) for printing, I can send it to you via e-mail. If you prefer, I can make prints. Please send me an e-mail and list the file name(s) and the sizes you need (4x6, 5x7, 8x10, or larger). I'll get back to you with an estimate of cost and time.
By popular demand, I'll have a CD of all the photos available after graduation. Write to me and I can send you the disk.
Each year Dr. Hornbuckle and his CPS technicians organize a breakfast to honor the graduating class. Tables are heaped with great food and lots of people participated. Here are a few photos from that event.
On Monday evening, May 24th the annual Award Banquet was held at the Statler Hotel, Carrier Ballroom. Here are the awards and recipients and few photos from the evening.
Hill's sponsored a picnic for the fourth-year-class at the Cornell Recreation Connection Park on Hanshaw Road on Wednesday afternoon. Here are some photos from the that event.
The academic hood not only represents the degree held by the wearer but also the institution which awarded it. Thus, the hood is made with traditional gray for veterinary medicine and carnelian red and white for Cornell.
The Hooding was held at Bailey Hall on Saturday, May 29 at 2 pm. Candidates for the degree, Doctor of Veterinary Medicine, and CUHA interns and residents completing programs assemble with parents, friends, spouses, partners, colleagues, faculty and guests. Dean Kotlikoff addressed the assembly and placed the hood representing the DVM degree on each candidate. The Veterinary Oath was administered by Dr. Rene van Ee, President of the New York State Veterinary Medical Society. Dr. Rob Gilbert (Pfizer Distinguished Teacher Award - 2010) delivered the traditional "charge to the class". Dr. Wm. Horne, CUHA Director then recognized the interns and residents who have completed programs in the Hospital. Here are some of those photographs.
