Cornell Summer Research and Leadership Program
Background: I grew up in New Zealand and then moved to Australia and attended an agricultural high school. I completed two years of Agricultural Science at the University of Sydney before beginning my veterinary science degree in 2002. Last year I completed a research year where I studied lower airway inflammation in horses, specifically evaluating the cytology of equine tracheal aspirates. Interests: Reading, listening to music, jogging, swimming, bush walking, spending time with friends and family. Career Goal: Following graduation I intend initially to enter large animal veterinary practice for a short time, as I believe that this will help me to develop my professional and clinical veterinary skills, to allow me to contribute more to the ultimate area of research that I hope to enter. Following this, I am hoping to commence a PhD either in Australia or overseas, to study pathology or microbiology with a focus on large animal respiratory disease or equine performance practice. |
