Cornell Summer Research and Leadership Program
Background:
Becoming a veterinary scientist has been a dream for me since I was very young. When I was enrolled in the college, my father gave me a book as a present, which is On Being A Scientist Responsible Conduct in Research 2nd Edition (1995) by the National Academy of Sciences. It says that the scientific research enterprise, like other human activities, is built on a foundation of trust. And the core values on which the enterprise is based-honesty, skepticism, fairness, collegiality, openness. That book gave me the first concept to how to become a qualified scientist, not only focusing on research, but also on responsibility.
Interests: I develop my interest in stem cell biology because I believe this study are lending insight into the origins of cancer and will ultimately yield new approaches to fight this disease. Career Goal: My future career goals include the development of research encompassing the cellular biology skills and during my Ph.D whilst continuing to further my clinical interest in Veterinary Medicine, using the comparative background to approach problems faced by zoonotic diseases and public health issues. |
