Field Visit

A field visit to Maryland showcases two superb but very different research institutions. The National Institutes of Health is located in Bethesda, a suburb of Washington. It is the premier biomedical research institution in the nation. The Animal and Natural Resources Institute is located in Beltsville. The Institute is the premiere research facility operated by the United States Department of Agriculture. Both the NIH and USDA offer opportunities for postdoctoral research. Sampling these opportunities and meeting with staff scientists in the two institutions are additional reasons for the visit.
NIH Students prepare for the visit by conducting library research on the presentation topics. Each presentation consists of a 30 minute overview to the topic followed by 30 minute of questions and comments.
