Interdisciplinary Research
The College of Veterinary Medicine recognizes the need to advance research by developing collaborations with scientists and researchers who share the same expertise or with those who bring a different, but required, knowledge. The needs for interdisciplinary research are obvious:
it fills gaps in research at a time when research is advancing so rapidly and its complexity is insurmountable
duplication of research efforts can be avoided, and
shared knowledge expedites results to fruition.
Formal collaboration through established consortium agreements with other institutions are noted as well as formal, collaborative relationships with investigators within Cornell.
