Title: 4th International Workshop on the Molecular Pathogenesis of Marek's Disease Virus

The purpose of this project is to defray the costs for U.S. graduate students and post-doctoral scientists to attend the 4th International Workshop on the Molecular Pathogenesis of Marek's Disease Virus, held at the Clayton Conference Center, University of Delaware on August 5-8, 2006. This workshop was organized to provide an opportunity for researchers in the field of Marek's disease to establish collaborations, communicate data, and develop comprehensive strategies for the control of this major threat to the poultry industry worldwide. These symposia are widely regarded as the most significant meeting associated with MD, and as such, represent unique opportunities for graduate students, post-doctoral scientists and project directors to gain insight not only into the mechanisms of MDV oncogenicity and pathogenicity, but also into the evolution of control strategies for MD.
