DESCRIPTION (provided by applicant):  This interdisciplinary group is convening to advance junior women faculty through tenure‐track and non‐tenure track careers. Our group consists of 3 tenure‐track assistant professors and 1 senior research associate in The College of Veterinary Medicine, across two departments (Population Medicine and Diagnostic Sciences; and Molecular Medicine). We are all relatively new at Cornell and have our own research labs for the first time. Our primary activities will entail providing peer feedback and group discussion for research proposals/ideas seeking internal/external funding, but also for other written works such as research and review article manuscripts being prepared for publication, and research and teaching statements for tenure files. A written work will be precirculated electronically (on Blackboard or via googledocs) and each group member is expected to provide brief written feedback in addition to participating in the group conversation. We hope that these regular meetings will also serve as important sources of informal support and advice on professional skills, such as student mentoring, leadership, and negotiation.
