Video Conferencing - Computing and Communications Center
The Office of Information Technologies opened its new Videoconference
and Presentation Room, located in B08 Computing and Communications Center. This is the first room to
be equipped with a live, real-time audio/video/data interaction between two or more sites.
It offers Cornell employees the option not to travel to meetings in distant locations and has
the ability to connect colleagues from all over the world.
Available equipment includes:
Seating for 1-20 people;
Sliding tack boards to help acoustics and direction in the room;
A portable presentation system;
A Zenith 60-inch plasma screen;
A videoconferencing system of Polycom's iPower 9800, featuring a camera controlled by a wireless keyboard;
A document camera system by Elmo which will send paper, transparencies and 3-D images;
A DVD/VCR combination player, sound system and both wired and wireless Internet access;
Operational support provided by CIT's Classroom Technology staff
Rates are:
$100 per hour for a point-to-point conference;
Additional costs to bridge multiple sites
